As some of you know, I am currently in Japan as Raphael Saadiq’s tour photographer. Ray is performing at the Tokyo Blue Note for 3 days. My trip started at 7am EST at The Laguardia Airport in Queens. I took a 2 hr flight to ATL International. Waited for 2hrs and boarded my plane to JP. The grueling 14hr flight to Narita International Airport was tough. I couldn’t sleep despite getting 3hrs sleep the night before and dropping a Melatonin. Anyway, once in Japan, the Blue Note people took good care of me. I met up with the band and we took a van to our hotel in Tokyo. The entire trip was about 17-18hrs. Crazy. Anyway, here are some pics along with commentary.
Dope! Cool photos! Looking forward to see how you gonna capture Tokyo and all!! I couldn’t update comment on Raphael Saadiq’s blog but anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing you all at Bluenote tonight!! (I’m taking half day off from work so I can get there on time!hahah)
Have a GREAT time in Tokyo!! (I hope it won’t rain too much!)
Tone,
That’s great! I knew it was just a matter of time that you guys went international!! Have fun and call me when you get back. 寿司屋で置かれて得なさい

Good Morning.
I met you at Bluenote Tokyo and I asked you a bit. Then, I found out you were TONE. So I took your photo. Don’t you remember me?
Yesterday’s show was fantastic, especially the first song(RIP MJ).
It looks like you stay at Okura close to American Embassy.
There is a nice restaurant area near Okura. It is Kasumi Dining. There is a famous Belgian beer bar called Delirium cafe in the building. I’ll tell you the info(unfortunately there is no English site) below. Please enjoy Tokyo’s days!

Anyway I wanted to say Thank you for the Great show.

Every Six month!!!
Atsuko’s comment is rude, period.
you should be happy?
who do you think you are?
dude, the show was dope as hell.
I want to hear ” Without You” tonight.
↑ tonight is 30.
Thanks for all the comments. Japan has been incredible so far. The Blue Note has treated everyone with such hospitality and warmth. We went to a small bar called TIGHT on “Drunkards Alley”. It literally fits 5 people but is known as the smallest Hip Hop bar in the world. We met Santa and Hiro from the store SANTASTIC. Santa is the man! Pen introduced to Yusuke from NITRO Microphone Underground and tonight I am linking up with Lyntaro from FRANK 151 – Japan. All incredible people. I dont wanna go home!
I am very sorry giving you the negative feelings.
I do apologize from the bottom of my heart.
I was not trying to say any rude things at all. truely.
I wanted to say the show was great and wanted to see more often in Tokyo. I am sorry the way I wrote…..
Hey Atsuko-
I did not feel like your comment was negative. I understood what you meant. No worries.
